The Working Group is headed by Lesia Orobets, Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Basic Education, and includes representatives of the Ministry of Science and Education, Chief Department of Education and Science of Kyiv City State Administration, educational projects of the public association "Opora", higher educational establishments.
Members of the Working Group discussed the issues concerning improvement of holding external independent testing, especially determination of status of the State Final Attestation; personnel issues; status, procedure of holding, essence and results of external independent testing.
Members of the Working Group deem reasonable to hold external testing after the school year, only due to the results of fulfillment of a graduate program in the current year. This will render an opportunity of regulating the educational process, and will settle the personnel provision issue, since the teachers on leave would be able to take part in the holding of external testing. The members of the Working Group also upheld the motion concerning attraction of graduates of pedagogical higher education establishment, provided the relevant agreements are concluded.
The members also deem necessary to check compliance of the certificate grade with the one established by a higher education establishment.
Discussing public monitoring funding, the attendants of the meeting proposed to substitute public observers with web-cameras.
Members of the Working Group resolved to settle problematic issues with the experts of the education sector, and hold a final sitting of the Working Group after 20 June 2008.
